COSMIC BLOSSOM

Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami
Flower power hits Akihabara this season as Takashi Murakami’s Limited Edition “Cosmic Blossom” Collection for Louis Vuitton will be hitting stores soon in April. The quirky artist whose signature happy blossoms and whimsical characters are no stranger to the Louis Vuitton monogram canvas are back with sweet punch in fresh Jolly Rancher shades. The collection features a line-up of leather goods ranging from clutches to roomy totes emblazoned in a busy mesh of LV monogram and Murakami blossoms and a baseball jersey scripted LV logo in tonal shades of pink, violet and blue. The same cheery pattern also recurs on soft beach tunics, tees, bandanas and bikinis. The same flowers blossom on matching wedges and proves to be an irresistibly spirited collection for girls who just want to be girls. Check out the look book photo shoot featuring Daisy Lowe in Miami and get your wallets ready for the fun pieces that will bring the tropical vacation cheer into your city summer.

OUI OUI OUI = HOT HOT HOT!

Just say OUI.
As many of you know, oui is how the French say yes.
It's also the inspiration for  a new jewelry collection by Dior Couture.

CHIQUITA GETS A MAKE OVER!

A fresh Chiquita!

Chiquita's latest ad campaign imbues its audience with an instant sense of wonder. Using playful illustrations on stickers juxtaposed to the iconic Chiquita stickers, the product and brand become more engaging to the consumer—plus they just look cool.  This campaign is already implemented in the USA, but when will it come to Europe? I would like to have a collection of happy chiquita stickers everyday too!

NYC FASHION WEEK

Walking to the runways...
NYC Fashion Week has come and gone--but what stands out for me isn't walking on the runways, but walking to the runways. As always, my favorite fashion blogger/photog, Tommy Ton, has captured what the fashion-ettes wore to the tents this past week for Style.com.  I am seeing lots of leather (jackets & gloves), texture (fur & reptile), and unexpected blasts of color.  Check out those styles and put your own spin on it!

HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY ED BANGER II !!!!

My muse turns 7!!
Pedro Winter's business Ed Banger Records turns 7 in proper style. The crew had an amazing birthday bash up in NYC and now it's time to show the European fans some love. The date is set on 5 March in the Coronet Theater in London. Busy P, SO ME,  SebastiAN, Breakbot, Riton & Fake Blood are slated to perform, but Justice might do a surprise appearance.

SO ME x NSW

Ed Bangers = Muse
So Me, nee Bertrand De Langeron, is an acclaimed illustrator as well as the art director of Ed Banger records, one of the world’s most cutting – edge labels. Since 2003, his album art and music videos have come to embody the eclectic world of Ed Rec, adding complimentary visuals to their innovative sounds. His contributions to the France kit exhibit his pop art sensibility and tongue-in-cheek style. The colorful mascot and crest feature a simple character that’s a parody of the stereotypical Frenchman – complete with a tilted beret and manicured moustache. The pattern lining the hoodie on the AW77 is a brick-like repeat in vibrating red, blue and black and the hand-written font features rounded edges, adding to the kit’s playful vibe. Ed Banger artists are my muses! This recent collaboration between So Me & NSW has inspired me as a designer.

OMG-OMG-OMG!!

Rodarte can glow!!
Fresh off the NY fashion week catwalk F10, is Rodarte in glowing force. They’re futuristic, but somehow still warm and fuzzy, just like Rodarte! Maybe post-apocalypse won’t be so bad after all.

MOON MANI

The moon mani is back!
Dior did it a few seasons back for their winter collection. Now at Ruffian’s Fall 2010 runway show, models wore an eclipsed moon manicure, which, according to Style, has its style roots in the ’40s. Ruffian is by no means the first to reignite the look, but they are quickly setting the bar for hot-as-toast color combos and design twists. In this image, you can see the moon has been flipped, which CND nail stylist Roxanne Valinoti describes as an “eclipse.” In this image, the bottom layer is gold, layered on top with an opaque blue. This will be my next paint job! Bring on the moon mani!

SPRINGING WITH COLOR

VALENTINE'S DAY SHADES BY OAKLEY

CANDY RED SPECIAL EDITION!
Oakley teases up with a peek into a special edition of Valentine’s Day Frogskins, made in a run of only 30 pairs. The shades feature a clear candy red frame that fades to white and boasts positive red iridium lenses to match. They also come in a classic bag with printed Oakley logo candy hearts. It seems like they will not be made available to the public.
